About
Our Vision for PR Conversations Redux
- reflect a wide variety of voices, including in-house executives, managers and practitioners, consultants and independent practitioners, PR academics and students and others with information and opinions to share about public relations
- shine a light on lesser-known people and new experiences—those doing great work (i.e., innovative programs and case studies), plus thought-provoking and exciting ideas—in particular, seeking out accomplished, hard-working individuals who aren’t self-publicists
- offer a platform for informed discussions—not simply personal opinion, academic rhetoric or anecdotes; rather, insightful, illuminating and original thinking in a forum that encourages an exchange of considered ideas with people open to a respectful challenge and dialogue (see our Talking Points)
- take a fresh approach to looking at public relations in a global-local context: we believe there are no fixed views, are wary of placing theoretical or practical concepts on pedestals; instead, we’re looking for new perspectives on existing topics and exploring boundary-spanning roles
- deliver more than straight news, links and today’s shiniest new tools—we want to examine, synthesize and talk about PR-related areas of interest, including the feasibility of implementing them in our work; engage in critical debate rather than simply to promote colleagues and high-profile accomplishments
- driven by crowdsourcing—we welcome contributions, from suggesting posts to participating in regular features; the goal is to hear from a range of countries, companies and areas
- in addition to useful information, bring a sense of fun and excitement into debate, we don’t believe there are simple solutions to today’s PR challenges, but neither do we want to take ourselves too seriously or intimidate our colleagues

History
When PR Conversations originally launched in the spring of 2007, its founder, Toni Muzi Falconi, broke new ground by envisioning and introducing an international, collaborative PR-blog concept, which over the years resulted in more than 370 posts from a variety of contributors (please visit our Alumni Contributors page and archive).
This redux version builds upon that strong base and targeted concept, but now with a new format and fresh ideas, which we believe continues the tradition of differentiating PR Conversations from any other blog on the globe.
